UGC panel pat for SASTRA

THANJAVUR: The Expert Committee, constituted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), in pursuance to the directions of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, has commended the SASTRA University here for its transparent admission process.

The Committee visited all the departments at headquarters of the University and its offsite campus at Kumbakonam and had detailed discussion with faculty members, non-teaching staff and students regarding its functioning.

The report of the expert committee was considered by the UGC in its meeting held recently and has decided to accept the report of the Committee and forwarded it to the HRD Ministry. The committee has recorded that “the vision and mission of the University as also the faculties and administration of the university are praiseworthy.

Research works undertaken by the departments are in frontier areas of technology and new disciplines. The output and achievements of the university in about 5 years are commendable.
