Diploma cour se in dance, music

Students from abroad aspiring to get a theoretical knowledge in Carnatic music now have the Madras University to help them, as the institution have teamed up with a leading Internet Service Provider to launch a new six month diploma course in dance and music from January 2009.

"This course is desgined especially for the international students where they can register online through internet", Madras University ViceChancellor N Ramachandran told reporters here on wednesday.

"Once they register with us, we will be sending course materials", he said adding there would be online test at the end of the course session.

Whenever the students come to India, they could attend the practical session. "It is according to their convenience", he said. He said the course fees would be USD 1,500 and the university would soon sign a formal agreement with SkyPe Systems to launch the course.

On the introductions of other new course, the Vice Chancellor said the university would introduce a one-year diploma course in Airhostes and Aviation Hospitality by January next year.

Other new courses such as one year PG Diploma in Enterprising computing would also be launched in January 2009, which would have many components including IBM Main frame application software, IBM Main Frame System Management and IBM Main Frame databse management, he said.

"Apart from this, a one year diploma in Remote Infrastructure and Management would be launched in January 2009, with the help of Maples ESM Technologies, a leading software service provider", he added.
